2013 - Japan - Wireless - New rules for radio module certification
Iis no more required for an certified RF module to remain "easily removable", and soldering the module to its host, or the certification of modules without a connector is now possible.
This new rule applies to the following radio categories:
Article 2-1-19 and 2-1-19-2 (2.4GHz WLAN, Bluetooth, Etc.)
Article 2-1-19-3 and 2-1-19-3-2 (W52, W53, W56)
Article 2-1-19-11 (5GHz Wireless Access System)
Please note that even if it is not officially announced, the same approach seem to be accepted for mobile communication modules. (3G, 4G Etc.) Soldering the module is seen as a safety measure against tampering, and is being recommended by Japanese carriers. More information will follow if officials announcements are made !
I hope this will bring You new possibilities and opportunities.
Please note however that this change only applies to the above listed wireless devices and categories, and not to wired telecommunication modules, such as wired PSTN, ISDN, Etc.
Should you have any question, please feel free to contact us !

Re: 2013 - Japan - Wireless - New rules for radio module certification
As for labelling information, the module has to carry its own certification label.
The Ministry recommends however, the host to carry information about the certification of the internal module.
This is not a mandatory requirment, though.
